Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

Millie is a voice-to-text app for macOS. This policy explains, in plain language, what happens to your data when you use it.

The short version

We don't collect, store, or transmit your voice recordings, transcripts, or any personal data. Millie doesn't have a server, doesn't have user accounts, and doesn't run analytics or tracking of any kind. Everything happens locally, on your Mac.

Voice & transcripts

When you dictate, Millie converts your speech to text entirely on-device, using your Mac's Neural Engine. Your audio never leaves your computer — it isn't uploaded to us or to any third party, and it isn't retained after transcription. The resulting text is copied to your clipboard and is only stored on your Mac for as long as your system keeps clipboard history (which Millie doesn't control).

Microphone access

Millie asks for microphone permission so it can hear you when you trigger dictation. This permission is used solely to capture audio for on-device transcription, and for nothing else.

Purchases & subscriptions

If you purchase Millie or a subscription through the Mac App Store, that transaction is handled entirely by Apple via StoreKit. We never see or store your payment details — Apple's own privacy policy governs that data.

No accounts, no analytics

  • Millie doesn't require sign-in or an account.
  • Millie doesn't use analytics, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs.
  • Millie doesn't build a profile of you or your usage.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future feature needs network access beyond what's described here — we'll update this page and reflect the change clearly before it takes effect.
